06/30 XCVI Clothing
XCVI clothing was first sold in the public in 1996 on Melrose Avenue. It was instantly successful and its success is still apparent today. XCVI clothing celebrates the style of women in Los Angeles and embodies the comfortable and multi-layered clothing that the women in Los Angeles like to wear.
The XCVI story
Since its beginnings in 1996, XCVI clothing has been continuously popular. It was designed and conceptualised by Gita Zeltzer with the goal of being a ‘flattering fit for all women’ and also being ‘effortless and eclectic, bohemian and confident’. Gita designed XCVI clothing with all women in mind, but specifically for women who are ‘unapologetic of who they are and what they want out of life’.
The many styles of XCVI
One of the best things about XCVI, and no doubt one of the things that makes it so popular, is its ability to mix and match. It is known for it’s neutral colors and styles that can be worn with many different things. It is also well known for its comfortable items of clothing. These styles include (but are not limited to) XCVI pants, XCVI skirts, XCVI wearables, XCVI cargo pants, and the XCVI cotton pant.
The XCVI pant styles are most noted for their comfortable waistbands, which tend to either be thick elasticated waistbands or drawstring waistbands. They are also usually made with very soft cotton, which makes them high in comfort and movability.
XCVI shirts are multi purpose shirts. Many of their tank tops and long sleeved tops are practically seamless and most are loose fitting and highly comfortable fabrics.
XCVI has become popular with yogis as a result of its extremely comfortable and moveable fabrics and styles. They now specialise yoga clothes and are growing increasingly more and more popular in yoga stores around the country. The fold over waistband is something that has caught on the world of yoga clothing and XCVI manufactures this style.
Their spring 2011 collection is a classic example of their tried, tested and proven fashion philosophy. XCVI sticks with the styles it knows work and the fabrics people love. Their spring collection shows them steering clear of conventional and tired necklines and seams, and focusing instead on loose, flowy and comfortable lines and styles that, like the brand, embody the LA woman by day.
